Pollenzo
Wine, castles and truffle country around Alba
You spend three nights in Pollenzo, a quiet village set among the Barolo vineyards south of Alba. From here you range across the Langhe, visiting castle enotecas in Barolo and Grinzane Cavour, tasting at estates in Serralunga d'Alba, and walking the lanes of La Morra and Monforte d'Alba. Alba itself offers trattorias, hazelnut shops and truffle markets depending on the season. The Wine Bank at your hotel holds bottles from across Piedmont, and the landscape of vine rows over gentle hills frames every drive.
This is self-drive touring. You set the pace, choose your lunch stops and book cellar visits that interest you. We arrange your base, your opening tasting and suggestions for routes and cellars. August brings heat and vacationing Italians; October and November bring fog, harvest and white truffles at peak price.
Arranged for you: Welcome drink, guided wine tasting at the Wine Bank, three nights accommodation, daily breakfast
