Lemon groves, clifftop piazzas and coastal drives
We transfer you by private vehicle from Rome to Pompeii, where a guide walks you through the excavated city, stopping at frescoed villas, the forum and bakeries with millstones still in place. Mount Vesuvius rises over the site. After the tour you continue to Sorrento, a cliffside town above the Bay of Naples where lemon trees shade the lanes and ceramics shops line the corso. Your hotel sits in the center within reach of the marina and the terrace bars overlooking the water.
We arrange a full day along the Amalfi Coast, stopping first in Positano to see the maiolica-tiled dome of Santa Maria Assunta and the houses stacked above the beach. In Amalfi you walk the Duomo's staircase and the arcaded Cloister of Paradise, then taste limoncello at a local producer. We also book a ferry to Capri, where you ride the funicular to the Piazzetta, visit the Gardens of Augustus and explore Villa San Michele in Anacapri. The boat returns you to Sorrento by late afternoon. Dinner each night is at a neighborhood trattoria serving scialatielli with clams or grilled swordfish.
Arranged for you: Private transfer from Rome via Pompeii with guided archaeological tour, centrally located hotel, Amalfi Coast excursion to Positano and Amalfi with limoncello tasting, ferry and guided day on Capri including Villa San Michele and Gardens of Augustus.
